Our promise on every order
- Typically ships in 3–7 business days — crated and moved by LTL freight from Southwest Florida. The carrier then schedules delivery with you.
- Manufacturer specifications, published — model number, capacity, efficiency and refrigerant are all listed below, so you can check this against what your contractor specified.
- Check your match in seconds — put in the two model numbers you were quoted and see whether that pair is AHRI-certified before you spend anything. Not sure, or not our equipment? Send them to us and we will look them up by hand.
- 30 days to return unopened equipment — full returns policy.
What's included, and what your installer supplies Ships as one crate by freight. Installation is not included.
In the box: the outdoor condenser only. It needs a matched indoor unit: check the AHRI match, or read replacing just the condenser.
Your installer supplies the line set (or reuses yours if it qualifies: reuse or replace?), electrical disconnect and whip, thermostat and control wire, condensate drain and float switch, a condenser pad or wall brackets, and the permit.
Installation is by your licensed HVAC contractor. How to find one.
About this unit
Trane's single-stage heat pump — heating and cooling from one outdoor unit at 14.3 SEER2, 1.5 through 5 ton, running on R-454B.
The rating does not move on this one
SEER2 is certified to the pair rather than the outdoor unit, so on most condensers the figure shifts with the air handler. The 5TWR4 certifies at 14.3 SEER2 with every indoor unit we carry — 5TEM4, Hyperion 5TAM5 and 5TMM5 alike.
That simplifies the decision: pick the indoor unit on cabinet fit, airflow and heat-kit capacity rather than on efficiency. If you want the rating to climb with the pairing, that is the 5TWR6, which runs up to 16 SEER2 depending on what it is matched to.
Either way the certified reference number for each pairing is published on the complete system listings, and you can check any combination yourself before you spend anything.
Why a heat pump, and where this one fits
No furnace and no gas line — the circuit that cools in August reverses in January and heats, far more cheaply than strip heat alone. On the handful of genuinely cold mornings the strips in the air handler carry the load, which is why heat-kit sizing matters on the indoor unit you pair this with.
14.3 SEER2 is the current federal minimum for the South rather than a compromise, so this is a legal, current-generation system. The honest case for it is a rental, a flip, or a house you are not staying in long enough to earn back the efficiency premium. The Climatuff® compressor and the weatherproof cabinet are the same as the higher series — durability is not where Trane economises.
Warranty
Set by Trane, not HVAC Supply Pro. Trane's published terms require licensed installation, offer longer parts coverage when registered within 60 days of installation, and exclude purchases made on an uninstalled basis, including online. Read Trane's terms before you buy and see our warranty page.
Before you order
- Must be installed by a licensed HVAC professional (EPA Section 608 certification is required to open a refrigerant circuit); manufacturers' warranty terms generally require licensed installation
- 208–230V, single phase, 60 Hz
- Line set, disconnect, whip, thermostat and equipment pad are not included
- Ships on a freight truck — read receiving a freight delivery before delivery day
Size it properly
Match the condenser to a Manual J load calculation from someone who has seen the property — not to square footage, and not to whatever is coming out.

Key features
- 14.3 SEER2 cooling + electric heating
- R-454B low-GWP refrigerant
- Durable Climatuff® compressor
- Weather-resistant cabinet & base pan
- Trane limited warranty terms apply; see trane.com
Trane is the badge most homeowners ask for by name. On the outdoor unit, the reason is the compressor.
- The Climatuff® compressor. Trane puts compressors through accelerated life testing that most manufacturers do not, and the field failure rates follow. On a component that runs into four figures to replace once the warranty is out, that is where the premium actually goes.
- Built for permanent outdoor exposure. Powder-coated galvanized steel cabinet and a corrosion-resistant coil that holds capacity in humid and salt-air environments — which, on the Gulf Coast, is what decides whether you get twelve years or twenty.
- Published warranty terms. Trane's own limited warranty offers longer parts coverage when registered within 60 days, under Trane's conditions. Read them at trane.com before you buy.
- Every technician works on Trane. Parts availability fifteen years from now is not something you have to think about, and you will not struggle to find someone willing to service it.
- It holds its value. "It's a Trane" is a line in a listing when the house sells, and an inspector who sees one moves on. That is worth something on a component nobody can see working.

How buying the equipment yourself works — the whole process, start to finish
You are buying the equipment from us and the labour from an installer you choose. Two numbers instead of one bundled quote — which is the point, but it does mean you are the one connecting them. Here is the whole sequence.
- Order the equipment. The price on this page is what you pay us. Nothing about installation is included in it, and nothing is added later.
- Line up your installer before it ships. This is the step people skip, and it is the one that causes trouble — equipment sitting in a garage while you ring round for someone free. You need a licensed HVAC professional; opening a refrigerant circuit requires EPA certification. Ask specifically what they charge to install customer-supplied equipment. How to find one.
- It ships crated on a freight truck. Orders typically ship within 3–7 business days. A complete system travels as two crates — condenser and air handler — which can arrive on different days. Delivery is to your address on a liftgate truck for one flat price, with nothing to choose at checkout. What delivery costs.
- The carrier calls to book a delivery window. That appointment is when your equipment arrives — not the ship date. Answer the call; an unanswered one is the most common cause of a delay.
- Inspect it before you sign. Two minutes at the tail of the truck decide whether a damage claim works. Note any damage on the delivery receipt specifically, not just "damaged", and photograph it before it comes off the truck. What to check.
- Your installer fits it. Line set, disconnect, whip, thermostat and equipment pad are not included — your installer supplies those. If the manufacturer's terms allow, register the equipment. Trane and RunTru offer longer parts coverage when registered within 60 days, subject to their conditions. Check the manufacturer's terms before you buy. Warranty terms.
