No. We sell to everyone — homeowners, handymen, and licensed contractors alike. That said, we always recommend a qualified installer handle the refrigerant, electrical, and startup so your factory warranty stays valid.
Is the equipment brand-new and covered by warranty?
Every unit ships brand-new, factory-sealed, and never refurbished. Equipment carries the manufacturer's limited warranty — generally five years on parts as standard, extending to ten years on most components when you register the system within 60 days of installation. Terms are set by the manufacturer and vary by brand and product line, so check the warranty certificate that ships with your unit. Full warranty details.
How much do I save buying dealer-direct?
That depends entirely on what your installer charges for labor, and we won't pretend to know that. What we can tell you is what the equipment costs — our prices are published on every product page, which is more than you get from a bundled quote. You pay us for the equipment and your installer for the work, so you see two numbers instead of one and can ask what each covers.
Can I pay for a system over time?
Yes — you can split the cost into payments with Shop Pay at checkout instead of paying for the whole system up front. It's worth knowing how that works: the financing is run by Shop Pay's lending partner, not by us. We're not a lender, we don't run the credit check, and we don't set anyone's terms — so we genuinely can't tell you in advance what you'd be offered. How does shipping work and what does it cost?
One price, and it is on this page rather than buried in checkout: $349 delivered to your door across the eastern, central and southern US, or $499 in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. That does not change with the weight of your order — a two-crate complete system delivers for the same as a single condenser — and nothing is added at checkout.
Everything ships crated by LTL freight, and the liftgate is included. That is the powered platform that lowers your crate from the trailer to the ground; most sellers charge for it separately, and for a home with no loading dock it is not really optional. Can you help me pick the right size (tonnage)?
We can't size a system from square footage, and we won't guess — getting tonnage wrong is expensive and can't be undone once it's installed. Get a Manual J load calculation from a local contractor who has actually seen the property. What we can do is confirm whether two specific units are a matched, AHRI-certified pair. Put the two model numbers into our match checker and you'll have the answer in seconds, with the certified reference number. If the equipment isn't ours, send us the model numbers and we'll look them up by hand.
What refrigerant do these systems use?
It depends which product, and both are current-generation.
Our central equipment — condensers, heat pumps, air handlers and complete matched systems — runs on R-454B. Our ductless mini-splits run on R-32.
Both are low-GWP refrigerants that meet the current federal standard; R-32 is simply the one the ductless category settled on. Either way you're buying current-generation equipment, not last year's phase-out stock. More on the refrigerant change.
What's your return policy?
Unopened, uninstalled equipment can be returned within 30 days in its original packaging. Reach out for an RMA first. Installed units can't be returned, so double-check sizing and model compatibility with our team before you order.
