A condenser has no SEER2 rating on its own. AHRI rates a specific outdoor unit against a specific indoor one, and the same condenser can rate very differently depending on what it is matched to — that certified number is what goes on a permit and a rebate application.

See all answersDo I need to be a licensed HVAC contractor to buy?
No. We sell to everyone — homeowners, handymen, and licensed contractors alike. That said, we always recommend a licensed installer handle the refrigerant, electrical and startup. Manufacturers’ warranty terms generally require it.
Is the equipment new, and is it covered by a warranty?
Every unit ships new, in its original factory packaging, and is never refurbished. Any warranty comes from the manufacturer, not from us, and the manufacturer decides whether it applies. Terms commonly require a licensed installer and registration, and some manufacturers, including Trane, exclude equipment bought online. We're an independent retailer, not an authorized dealer, so please read the manufacturer's terms before you buy. Warranty details.
How much do I save buying the equipment myself?
That depends entirely on what your installer charges for labor, and we won't pretend to know that. What we can tell you is what the equipment costs — our prices are published on every product page, which is more than you get from a bundled quote. You pay us for the equipment and your installer for the work, so you see two numbers instead of one and can ask what each covers.
Can I pay for a system over time?
Yes — you can split the cost into payments with Shop Pay at checkout instead of paying for the whole system up front. It's worth knowing how that works: the financing is run by Shop Pay's lending partner, not by us. We're not a lender, we don't run the credit check, and we don't set anyone's terms — so we genuinely can't tell you in advance what you'd be offered. How does shipping work and what does it cost?
One price, and it is on this page rather than buried in checkout: $349 delivered to your door across the eastern, central and southern US, or $499 in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. That does not change with the weight of your order — a two-crate complete system delivers for the same as a single condenser — and no other freight charge is added at checkout. That price is for equipment — condensers, air handlers and complete systems.
Equipment ships crated by LTL freight, and the liftgate is included. That is the powered platform that lowers your crate from the trailer to the ground; most sellers charge for it separately, and for a home with no loading dock it is not really optional. The carrier will call to schedule a delivery appointment once your order is on its way.
Mini-splits and accessories ship by UPS Ground instead, delivered to your door: a mini-split travels in two cartons for $149, or $249 for units of 100 lb and over; line sets, brackets and heat kits are $29, or $69 at 40 lb and over. Can you help me pick the right size (tonnage)?
We can't size a system from square footage, and we won't guess — getting tonnage wrong is expensive and can't be undone once it's installed. Get a Manual J load calculation from a local contractor who has actually seen the property. What we can do is confirm whether two specific units are a matched, AHRI-certified pair. Put the two model numbers into our match checker and you'll have the answer in seconds, with the certified reference number. If the equipment isn't ours, send us the model numbers and we'll look them up by hand.
What refrigerant do these systems use?
It depends which product, and both are current-generation.
Our central equipment — condensers, heat pumps, air handlers and complete matched systems — runs on R-454B. Our ductless mini-splits run on R-32.
Both are low-GWP refrigerants that meet the current federal standard; R-32 is simply the one the ductless category settled on. Either way you're buying current-generation equipment, not last year's phase-out stock. More on the refrigerant change.
What's your return policy?
Unopened, uninstalled equipment can be returned within 30 days in its original packaging. Reach out for an RMA first. Installed units can't be returned, so double-check sizing and model compatibility with your installer before you order.
