Every system we sell is new and carries the manufacturer's limited warranty. But "10-year warranty" on a listing hides two things: it is ten years only if you register, and it covers parts, never labour. Here is what each brand actually gives you and what you have to do to keep it.
Trane and RunTru
Unregistered: the base limited warranty, generally 5 years of parts coverage from the installation date.
Registered within 60 days of installation: 10 years of parts coverage on most components, and longer on select components on qualifying models. Registration is the entire difference, and it takes a few minutes at trane.com or runtru.com, or through the card and QR code in the box.
RunTru is Trane's builder line and carries the same warranty structure. The lower price does not come with a shorter warranty.
Everwell
Everwell sets terms per product line, and they are not the same as Trane's, so read this before assuming.
CAC-15 condensers and matched central equipment: 10 years on the compressor and parts, 5 years on the coil, with registration.
MKTH-17 mini-splits: 5 years compressor, 2 years parts, 1 year coil, 30 days on the remote, with registration.
Two conditions apply to everything Everwell: the unit must be installed by a licensed HVAC technician, and it must be registered at everwell-ac.com/warranty within 60 days of installation. Covered replacement parts are supplied free; shipping on those parts is paid by the customer.
Buying online does not shorten any of this. The warranty is issued by the manufacturer against the registered equipment, not against where you bought it. What can shorten it is the two things below.
What registration asks for
Have these to hand when the system is commissioned, and file it that day rather than filing the paperwork somewhere:
Model and serial numbers of every component — condenser, air handler or coil, and the heat kit if there is one. They are on the data plates and on your order confirmation from us.
The installation date, which is when the clock starts, and the installer's company name and licence number.
Your name, the installation address and proof of purchase. Your order email from HVAC Supply Pro is the proof.
If you miss the window, Trane and RunTru default to the base 5-year terms. Everwell requires registration for coverage at all, so on Everwell the deadline matters most.
What is never covered, on any brand
Labour. The manufacturer sends the part. Paying someone to diagnose the fault and fit it is between you and your installer, unless you bought a separate labour warranty from them. Ask for one at the quote stage; many installers offer one or two years on their own work.
Refrigerant lost to a leak, and the cost of recovering and recharging.
Damage from improper installation, wrong sizing, the wrong refrigerant, lack of maintenance, or unlicensed work. This is the clause that bites, which brings us to the two mistakes.
The two mistakes that void it
An unlicensed install. Federal law already requires EPA Section 608 certification to open a refrigerant circuit; the manufacturers go further and make a licensed professional a condition of coverage, and Everwell says so in writing. A mismatched pair. The warranty, like the efficiency rating, belongs to the AHRI-certified combination of condenser and indoor unit. Pair a condenser with a coil it is not certified against and a claim can be refused. Every complete system on this site is a certified pair; if you are buying a condenser alone, check the match first in the AHRI match checker.
If something fails
Contact us with the model and serial number and your order number and we will start the manufacturer's claim and pull the warranty certificate for your unit. We facilitate the claim; the manufacturer honours it. The full terms and what is and is not covered are on our warranty page.
