Our promise on every order
- Typically ships in 3–7 business days — crated and moved by LTL freight from Southwest Florida. The carrier then schedules delivery with you.
- Manufacturer specifications, published — model number, capacity, efficiency and refrigerant are all listed below, so you can check this against what your contractor specified.
- Check your match in seconds — put in the two model numbers you were quoted and see whether that pair is AHRI-certified before you spend anything. Not sure, or not our equipment? Send them to us and we will look them up by hand.
- 30 days to return unopened equipment — full returns policy.
What's included, and what your installer supplies Ships as one crate by freight. Installation is not included.
In the box: the indoor air handler only. It needs a matched outdoor unit: check the AHRI match.
Your installer supplies the line set (or reuses yours if it qualifies: reuse or replace?), power wiring and disconnect, thermostat and control wire, condensate drain and float switch, and the permit.
Electric heat is not included. If you want it, add the matching Everwell front-return heat kit.
Installation is by your licensed HVAC contractor. How to find one.
About this unit
The same Everwell indoor unit in a front-return cabinet — narrower, shorter, and built for the closet a standard-return handler will not fit.
Front return, and when you need it
The return duct enters the front of the cabinet rather than the side or bottom. That reads like a detail until you are standing in a hallway closet with no route to bring a return in from below — common in older Florida houses, and in any retrofit where the mechanical space was sized for equipment nobody makes any more.
It is also physically smaller. The 1.5–2 ton crates at 23.2 × 17.7 × 39.4 in against the standard-return AHC's 22.83 × 25.6 × 47.63 — roughly eight inches shorter and eight inches narrower. Measure the space before you choose between them.
What it does not do
No 15 kW or 20 kW heat kit on this series. The WFM heat kit covers the smaller outputs. If this is a straight air-conditioner system with no furnace in the house, the strips are the only heat there is — and if you need the larger sizes, the standard-return AHC takes them.
The range also stops at 3 ton. Above that, the AHC carries it to 5.
Why there is no SEER2 figure on this page
An air handler has no efficiency rating of its own. SEER2 is certified for a matched pair — one specific outdoor unit against one specific indoor unit — so the number belongs to the combination rather than to either box. Pair this with a CAC-15 air conditioner or a CAC-15 heat pump and the certified figure for that pairing is on the complete system listing, with the AHRI certificate linked. Or check any pairing yourself.
The GoldFin coil
An all-copper coil with a corrosion-resistant coating. The indoor coil runs wet every cooling hour, so it is the surface that suffers most in permanent humidity — and on the coast it is where standard coatings fail first.
Before you order
- Must be installed by a licensed HVAC professional (EPA Section 608 certification is required to open a refrigerant circuit); manufacturers' warranty terms generally require licensed installation
- Two sizes: 1.5–2 ton and 2.5–3 ton
- Line set, disconnect, whip, thermostat and pad are not included
- Ships on a freight truck — read receiving a freight delivery before delivery day

Key features
- Front-return configuration suits tight closets and mechanical rooms
- GoldFin™ coated coil resists coastal corrosion
- Matches any Everwell CAC-15 condenser
- R-454B low-GWP refrigerant
- WFM heat kits to 10 kW — choose the AHC handler if you need 15 or 20 kW
- AHRI and ETL certified
Everwell's indoor units are the lowest price per BTU we carry, in two return configurations so one line covers most installs.
- Two return configurations. The AHC takes a standard return and the FAHC a front return, so an upflow closet and a tight horizontal attic run are both covered without changing brand.
- GoldFin coil coating. Built for high-humidity and salt-air environments where standard coil coatings fail early. The indoor coil runs wet every cooling hour, which is exactly the surface that coating is aimed at.
- Matched to R-454B condensers throughout. Nothing in the range is last-generation stock being cleared ahead of the phase-out.
- Takes a field-installed heat kit. WTM strips for the AHC, WFM for the front-return FAHC — both listed under Installation Accessories.
- Air handlers from $1,249. The lowest price per BTU on the indoor side of the catalogue.

How buying the equipment yourself works — the whole process, start to finish
You are buying the equipment from us and the labour from an installer you choose. Two numbers instead of one bundled quote — which is the point, but it does mean you are the one connecting them. Here is the whole sequence.
- Order the equipment. The price on this page is what you pay us. Nothing about installation is included in it, and nothing is added later.
- Line up your installer before it ships. This is the step people skip, and it is the one that causes trouble — equipment sitting in a garage while you ring round for someone free. You need a licensed HVAC professional; opening a refrigerant circuit requires EPA certification. Ask specifically what they charge to install customer-supplied equipment. How to find one.
- It ships crated on a freight truck. Orders typically ship within 3–7 business days. A complete system travels as two crates — condenser and air handler — which can arrive on different days. Delivery is to your address on a liftgate truck for one flat price, with nothing to choose at checkout. What delivery costs.
- The carrier calls to book a delivery window. That appointment is when your equipment arrives — not the ship date. Answer the call; an unanswered one is the most common cause of a delay.
- Inspect it before you sign. Two minutes at the tail of the truck decide whether a damage claim works. Note any damage on the delivery receipt specifically, not just "damaged", and photograph it before it comes off the truck. What to check.
- Your installer fits it. Line set, disconnect, whip, thermostat and equipment pad are not included — your installer supplies those. Warranty terms are set by the manufacturer and vary by brand and product line; check them before you buy, and register the equipment if the terms allow. Warranty terms.
