Overview

About this system

The Everwell CAC-15 condenser matched to the AHC standard-return air handler — the least expensive complete matched system we sell, and one that arrives with its AHRI certificate published rather than promised.

What ships

  • Outdoor unit — Everwell CAC-15 R-454B condenser, GoldFin™-coated all-copper coil
  • Indoor unit — Everwell AHC standard-return air handler
  • Two crates, shipped together as an AHRI-certified matched pair

What it actually rates

14.3 SEER2 from 1.5 through 4 ton. The 5 ton pairing certifies at 13.8. That figure belongs to this specific condenser and this specific air handler together — not to the box outside — which is why we publish it per size instead of printing one number across the range.

Everwell publishes a certificate for every matched pair, and the link for the size you select is in the documents on this page. You can read the certified rating yourself before you spend anything. Not sure whether a pair you were quoted elsewhere is certified? Check it here.

The GoldFin coil

An all-copper coil with a corrosion-resistant coating, aimed at the thing that actually kills condensers in this state. Salt air and permanent humidity are where standard coil coatings fail early, and on the Gulf Coast that is what decides whether a unit gives you twelve years or twenty.

The AHC air handler

Standard return — the duct enters the cabinet the conventional way, which suits most upflow closet and attic installs. It also takes the larger strip heat. The Everwell AHC heat kit goes up to 20 kW, and this is a cooling-only system, so if there is no furnace in the house that kit is the only heat there is. Choose this handler over the front-return FAHC if you need those sizes.

Sizing — 1.5 to 5 ton

Seven capacities. Get a Manual J load calculation from a contractor who has walked the property. An oversized system short-cycles, never pulls the humidity out, and costs more to run than a correctly sized smaller one — sizing beats efficiency every time.

Before you order

  • Must be installed by a licensed HVAC professional — opening a refrigerant circuit requires EPA certification, and the manufacturer warranty depends on it
  • Line set, disconnect, whip, thermostat and equipment pad are not included
  • Cooling only. For heat from the same outdoor unit, see the CAC-15 heat pump version
  • Ships as two crates — read receiving a freight delivery before delivery day
Highlights

Key features

  • 14.3 SEER2 cooling, AHRI-certified as a matched pair
  • AHRI certificate linked on every size — check the rating yourself
  • GoldFin™ coated all-copper coil resists coastal corrosion
  • AHC standard-return air handler, 15 kW and 20 kW heat kits available
  • R-454B low-GWP refrigerant throughout
  • Ships as two crates — condenser and air handler

Everwell is where the price per BTU is lowest — a complete matched system here costs less than some condensers do on their own.

  • Current-spec refrigerant throughout. R-454B across the central range. Nothing is last-generation stock being cleared ahead of the phase-out.
  • GoldFin coil coating. Built for high-humidity and salt-air environments where standard coil coatings fail early — the same problem the all-aluminum coils solve elsewhere in our catalogue, addressed a different way.
  • AHRI certified and ETL listed, with a certificate published per matched pair. You can pull the certificate and check the rating yourself before you spend anything — the link is in the documents on this listing.
  • Complete matched systems from $2,698. That is less than some Trane condensers cost on their own, before you have bought an air handler.
  • Both halves from one manufacturer. Condenser and air handler engineered together, so the pairing is not something you have to go and verify yourself.

How buying direct works — the whole process, start to finish 6 steps

You are buying the equipment from us and the labour from an installer you choose. Two numbers instead of one bundled quote — which is the point, but it does mean you are the one connecting them. Here is the whole sequence.

  1. Order the equipment. The price on this page is what you pay us. Nothing about installation is included in it, and nothing is added later.
  2. Line up your installer before it ships. This is the step people skip, and it is the one that causes trouble — equipment sitting in a garage while you ring round for someone free. You need a licensed HVAC professional; opening a refrigerant circuit requires EPA certification. Ask specifically what they charge to install customer-supplied equipment. How to find one.
  3. It ships crated on a freight truck. Orders typically ship within 3–7 business days. A complete system travels as two crates — condenser and air handler — which can arrive on different days. Delivery is to your address on a liftgate truck for one flat price, with nothing to choose at checkout. What delivery costs.
  4. The carrier calls to book a delivery window. That appointment is when your equipment arrives — not the ship date. Answer the call; an unanswered one is the most common cause of a delay.
  5. Inspect it before you sign. Two minutes at the tail of the truck decide whether a damage claim works. Note any damage on the delivery receipt specifically, not just "damaged", and photograph it before it comes off the truck. What to check.
  6. Your installer fits it, then register the warranty. Line set, disconnect, whip, thermostat and equipment pad are not included — your installer supplies those. Registering within 60 days of installation takes about four minutes and extends parts coverage from five years to ten. Warranty terms.
