Overview

About this unit

The warranty is the argument

Ten years on the compressor and parts, five on the coil, with registration. On a value-line condenser that is the headline, because the fear with any brand you have not heard of is what happens in year six when the compressor goes and nobody stands behind it. Registration is required and there is a deadline after installation, so do it when the system is commissioned rather than filing the paperwork somewhere and forgetting — our warranty page explains what is covered and what is not.

An LG scroll compressor, not an anonymous one

The compressor is the part that decides whether a condenser lasts, and it is the part budget equipment usually economises on. This one is an LG scroll — a manufacturer whose compressors are in equipment across the industry, single-stage and straightforward. It is the specific reason this unit is not the same proposition as the cheapest condenser you can find online.

GoldFin coated copper, and why a technician cares

The coil is all-copper with a GoldFin corrosion-resistant coating. Copper moves heat better than aluminium and, more usefully, a copper coil can be repaired in place by any technician with a torch. Aluminium coils generally cannot — a leak often means replacing the coil. The coating is what handles the salt air and humidity that would otherwise attack copper. If you are on the coast, or eight years out thinking about who fixes a small leak, that combination is worth understanding before you compare spec sheets on price alone.

Long line runs are possible here

Up to 148 feet of refrigerant line with as much as 66 feet of height difference. That is generous, and it opens up installations that would otherwise be difficult: a condenser placed around the side of the house away from a patio, a handler in a second-floor attic, or a unit serving a detached structure. Line sizes are 3/8 inch liquid with 3/4 inch gas up to 3.5 ton, stepping to 7/8 inch at 4 and 5 ton.

One limit to know about

Rated for cooling between 61°F and 118°F ambient. The top end is more than Florida asks of it. The bottom end means this is not the unit for a room that needs mechanical cooling in cold weather — a server closet or a wine room running year round — without a low-ambient kit. For a house, it is irrelevant. Top-discharge cabinet with a louvered grille guard, around 65 dB.

Highlights

Key features

  • 14.3 SEER2 cooling
  • Pre-charged with R-454B low-GWP refrigerant
  • High-performance scroll compressor
  • All-copper coil with GoldFin™ corrosion-resistant coating
  • Top-discharge design, louvered grille guard
  • As low as 65 dB operation
  • 10-yr compressor/parts, 5-yr coil warranty (with registration)

Everwell is where the price per BTU is lowest, and the range is built for the climates it sells into.

  • Current-spec refrigerant. R-454B across the central range — not last-generation stock being cleared ahead of the phase-out.
  • GoldFin coil coating. Built for high-humidity and salt-air environments where standard coil coatings fail early — the same problem the all-aluminum coils solve elsewhere in our catalogue, addressed a different way.
  • AHRI certified and ETL listed. Everwell publishes a certificate for each matched pair, so you can check the rating of a condenser and air handler together before you spend anything.
  • Condensers from $1,449. The lowest price per BTU on the outdoor side of the catalogue.

How buying direct works — the whole process, start to finish 6 steps

You are buying the equipment from us and the labour from an installer you choose. Two numbers instead of one bundled quote — which is the point, but it does mean you are the one connecting them. Here is the whole sequence.

  1. Order the equipment. The price on this page is what you pay us. Nothing about installation is included in it, and nothing is added later.
  2. Line up your installer before it ships. This is the step people skip, and it is the one that causes trouble — equipment sitting in a garage while you ring round for someone free. You need a licensed HVAC professional; opening a refrigerant circuit requires EPA certification. Ask specifically what they charge to install customer-supplied equipment. How to find one.
  3. It ships crated on a freight truck. Orders typically ship within 3–7 business days. A complete system travels as two crates — condenser and air handler — which can arrive on different days. Delivery is to your address on a liftgate truck for one flat price, with nothing to choose at checkout. What delivery costs.
  4. The carrier calls to book a delivery window. That appointment is when your equipment arrives — not the ship date. Answer the call; an unanswered one is the most common cause of a delay.
  5. Inspect it before you sign. Two minutes at the tail of the truck decide whether a damage claim works. Note any damage on the delivery receipt specifically, not just "damaged", and photograph it before it comes off the truck. What to check.
  6. Your installer fits it, then register the warranty. Line set, disconnect, whip, thermostat and equipment pad are not included — your installer supplies those. Registering within 60 days of installation takes about four minutes and extends parts coverage from five years to ten. Warranty terms.
