Copper moves heat better than aluminium and, more usefully, \u003cstrong\u003ea copper coil can be repaired in place by any technician with a torch\u003c\/strong\u003e. Aluminium coils generally cannot — a leak often means replacing the coil. The coating is what handles the salt air and humidity that would otherwise attack copper.
